These terms apply to your use of this website, operated by Carve Lab LLC. By using the site, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

The content is research, not instruction

This site publishes observations, measurements, and models about snowboard carving. Each claim is labeled with how well supported it is, and those labels mean what they say: an observation is something we saw, a measurement is something we recorded, and a model is something we inferred and have not necessarily confirmed.

None of it is coaching, instruction, medical advice, or safety guidance. Snowboarding carries an inherent risk of serious injury or death, and that risk is not removed by understanding it better. Conditions, equipment, terrain, and your own ability vary in ways no published research accounts for. You are responsible for your own decisions on the mountain, and you should rely on qualified instruction, current conditions reporting, and your own judgment rather than on anything you read here.

Using our content

The text, images, diagrams, data, and design on this site belong to Carve Lab LLC unless stated otherwise. You may read, share, and quote from it for personal, non-commercial purposes, with attribution and a link back to the source page.

You may not republish substantial portions of it, use it to train machine learning models, or use it commercially, without our written permission. If you want to do something the above does not clearly allow, ask us. We are generally willing.

Names and marks

Carve Lab, SnowPlanGo, and Carving Codex, along with associated logos, are marks of Carve Lab LLC. Nothing here grants you a right to use them.

Links to other sites

We link to other sites, including our own products and external sources we cite. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their practices.

Availability and accuracy

The site is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, and we do not promise that every published claim is correct. Research gets revised. When we get something wrong, we would rather correct it than defend it, and revisions are noted on the affected page.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Carve Lab LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of this site or from reliance on anything published here.

Changes

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Carve Lab LLC is formed, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
